Got a good one fer ya.
As we've discussed, we've both been making strings for more years than we'd nornally admit too; have you ever seen this one.
Hoyt Pro, #35, 10 srand B-50, black crimp-on nocking point. Few months old.
Normal practice session, a few hours into it, (guessing) an arrow slips the string, essentially resulting in a dry fire. Pick up the arrow, and give the bow a quick going over. No harm done. The sting, however, not so good. Upon inspection 3 broken strands, all seemed to have split directly under the nocking point, (with the center serving intact). I generally don't over crimp my nocks, and couldn't see any sharp edges.
In the last 30+ years, the only other string I've had go, was one that got a little too close to a broad head.
Any thoughts?n
