Your 14 target scores of 168-188 with this style, and 214 with better form says it all for me. YMMV!n

Here's the reason I disagree. IMHO (and yes this is from a guy who hasn't hunted in years and has no intention of so take it with a grain of salt), is that there is NEVER a reason to need a quick aggressive shot, unless it's just horse play between friends or doing a trick shot exhibition (I've done a few of those). Long gone are the days when you NEEDED to hunt to sustain your family or use a bow in a "quick combat situation". IMHO. if the deer didn't co-operate or the scenario wasn't to my liking the shot simply wasn't taken. These days archery and bowhunting are sports, just trying to keep it in perspective.
I recall on of the "trad" gurus on a video about instinctive shooting show that with that method you could take a shot while falling on your back ... I can't see that being a shot I'd take.
edit: I don't mean to say that a slight cant or lean is necessarily a bad thing, just the hunch-backed Ramboesque attack stance gets to be a bit much for my tastes.
Viper out.

But Dave:
The 168 was with a fairly heavy hunting longbow and heavy cedar arrows. The 214 was with a light FITA recurve and light target arrows. If I want even more precision I use a scoped rifle. I think the former was the greater accomplishment. Fortunately there are many styles for us to choose from. I enjoy most of them. I have even walked my strng, though never my face. The straight-limbed longbow with regular wooden arrows is the most sheer fun for me. Any which way, it is an endlessly fascinating sport.
