Thanks Rob - great explanation on this link.
Will have a go with the screwdriver tonight, and I might lash out on a cuphook too as this sounds a safer way to do it !n
With any luck I'll have a new set of arrows from the old ones soon. I've been a bit hard on them lately shooting some harder courses.

I've also made up a few straighteners with large hookeye screwed and expoxied into a piece of 3/4" dowel - but IMHO, a fat screwdriver shaft is faster and handier. Let us know how it goes for ya!

Got a question fer ya ...
Not being a fancier or wood arrows, I've seen the "hook" mentioned before and sold from several places. Doesn't concentrating the straightening force on such a small area cause a dent or compression in the wood?
