As far as I know there are only 3 Americans goingn Well in fact only one real American (A compound archer)n Myself a Brit transplant and Chris "the Swiss."n We both hold American passports!n It is a shame that NFFA does not support Trad archers, but there again most trad archers could not/would not shoot out to 40 yards
It is a shame that there are thousands of archers at Denton Hill and the like who are busy dumming down our great sport

Does anyone know if anyone in these type of events shoot Hill type longbows?,

In IFAA longbow class, yes there are Hill style longbows being shot. Here in the states there is so little participation in NFAA field archery by either longbow or recurve shooters in "Traditional" style that I can't answer your question. Two possible exceptions are a small core of longbow field shooters in California and Florida. Between those two extreems (coasts) if you aren't shooting at 3D targets you don't count.

Bob, Hill type bows are shot in the IFAAn In fact the 05 champion shot a Hill style bow, he also came over to the states and came second in the IBO worlds
Martin Konig the NAFAC 05 winner also uses a Hill style bow
As I recall the world field champion from Australia also uses a Hill type bow.

I say that it is the rubber animal brigade that has the fear among them, if they were to shoot field (fat chance of that) they would be shown up for what they are, a one trick show!

Well last weekend I won the NFAS 3D Nationals, great courses but the driving wind and rain was the real test on that for the competition.

I’ve just returned from the EFAA Bowhunter Nationals which I also won, first day was a 28 x 2shot 3D which started off pretty good for me but something went very wrong on the last eight targets where I only scored 50 points and blanked 3 targets, still trying to figure if it was lack of confidence or focus.
But I still managed to hang on to the lead by ten points, second day was normal 3D round with big game scoring and seem to find my groove after a good talking to myself the night before, I was pleased shooting a nice steady round scoring 468 (max 560) the last 14 targets I scored 248, the courses were really tough with all the targets pretty much near max IFAA distances (preparations for Switzerland I suspect) IFAA 3Ds shoot to 60 yards the picture enclosed is a Cougar at 45yards, although I was the only Archer in my group to hit it we all thought it was a cool shot, a great days shooting.

Just got Estonia’s Bowhunter champs next week and I think I’ll just about be as ready as I can be for the World champs in Switzerland.

That's a cool shot at the Cougar. If those sheets are the ones they sell for archery ranges, then it's an expensive shot too.
