There are lots of excellent near-unknown bowyers in the US and the world. One of least known, and best, is Troy Breeding. He makes only a handful of hybrid longbows each year as a "hobby" of sorts, and each one is such a gem in terms of performance, design, craftsmanship, materials, and looks. I've been fortunate to have owned three, and the latest one I just picked up (used) is a real tack shooter.
The longbow is in near mint condition and it's a one-of-a-kind prototype that Troy built in 2005. 64", 45# @ 28", with Tonkin cane limb cores sandwiched in cherry, osage, hickory and walnut lams, black glass on both the back and belly, ipe and osage riser lams with maple and ipe pin striping. Smooth and fast, typical of a TB longbow. Should make for a superb target and roving bow - not IFAA legal, but that don't bother me a bit.
