I have not shot this bow in quite awhile and haven't kept up with the trends in todays equipment. What rest is the most used rest today ( I usually used a Cav T-300 and a Berger button but the last couple years I used this bow I mounted a Barner enertia rest on it because it was where the trend then was headed)???

If I stay with this style I am sure I will get some new limbs ... Whats the hot limbs right now?

Thanks in advance for your replies ...

I'm not sure which of the many Gold Medalists your GM3 is so I have to ask: does that one take ILF limbs? I know some of the early GMs didn't and if you have one of those the new limbs you are asking about won't work.

If it is ILF compatible any of the top of the line limbs from a major company (Hoyt, Win&Win, Samick and even Border over in Scotland) shoot better than most of us ever will. It comes down to personal preferences as different makes have slightly different draw force curves, making them feel slightly different. Some like one feel, others like something different.

As for rests, although there really isn't anything wrong with the $2.50 Hoyt Super Rest most of the FITA shooters I know are using magnetic rests. Pick the one you like best.

Good luck and welcome back!
Dave

Dave I am assuming its ILF ... It uses a slide in detent ball system and an adjustable pocket.

In the 60's thru the 80's the Hoyt rest was my STD rest for all my bows except we mounted them on an adjustable side plate assembly which was a plate on a springy rest assembly. No buttons .... One less thing toconcern ourselves with ... Sort of a KISS for archery ;)

Jim, I think just about everyone shooting ILF limbs and risers is using a plunger, not so much for the shooting quality but for the tuning ability. The one exception I can think of are the ILF compatible bows designed and built by David Soza (DAS Kinetic). They can be shot off a built up, raised shelf but then nobody is shooting them in FITA comps. They are intended as a hunting bow.

My argument about the top quality ILF limbs from all the makers being good still applies. (smiley face goes here)

Dave
