Am registered for the games at Stanford, shooting barebow recurve. Am wondering a couple of things: anybody from here going? Anyone know anything about the Stanford winds? (it is close to San Francisco, known as the windy city; I am basically an East Coast field archer (nfaa) where my inland location and the trees shelter me from the wind -- not sure what to expect in a wide-open 900 round close to the Pacific Ocean) Rob |

Not familiar from 1st hand experience, but one tool that may be of use is www.wunderground.com Top right is a link for history data, where you can get such things as wind speed and gusts for any date. |

Thanks Todd -- maybe it won't be too bad -- I checked Aug 2, 2008 for the notorious San Francisco and for the nearby Palo Alto. San Francisco had gusts to 26 mph. Palo Alto was only about 1 mph. |

Palo Alto pretty much has a glorious climate the year around. Sometimes it gets a trifle warm in summer but if it does a bit of fog will come over the hills and moderate the temperature. It is one of the most equable climates on this planet. - lbg |
