I actually had a lot of fun this year, as the waiting was minimal. Shot with some great guys.

The first day I struggled with the mental game and shot accordingly. At the end of the day there was about 5 of us tied at 157, with me in 7th place.

The next day I knew I had to pour it on, and somehow I did, shooting a 183. That bumped me into 5th place, and allowed me to shoot the final round with the top 5 on Saturday. I was amazed to see that I was only 12 points behind the leader, and 1 point behind fourth place.

After 10 targets on the Championship Round, I was unable to gain any ground. At the last target, the guy in fourth needed an 11 to stay ahead of me. If he got just a ten, I would have beat him due to the X count. Well, he got an 11, and stayed exactly 1 point ahead of me.

Ken Redding ended up passing Dave Wallace by 4 points to win 1st. It was a great battle and a pleasure to watch.

Looking back, I realize that if I had been attired in a polo shirt and slacks like the others in my group, I would have shot better. But I'm new to this and didn't realize my tank-top and shorts would have such an adverse effect

My sister, Hope did awesomely, and took 3rd in the women's traditional class!!

Man I would love to go, but we are getting a new house around then, and I'm afraid to spend to much money until the deal is done.

Hopefully enough people show up that they will have it next year.

The rumor that was floating around at the World's was that if this Trad World's goes well, they might hold it annually and do away with the trad classes in the regular World's. I'd be in favor of that!

Is there usually a decent turn out of trad and long bow shooters at IBO events?

Not at all. And I think the main reason is that nobody wants to wait for 20 minutes at each target while the compound groups shoot.

That's a shame, I went to Traditional bowhunters of FL fall rendevous the other weekend and competed with 30 other long bow, wood arrow shooters. There will probably be 3 times that many at our spring championship. There were 186 total shooters at the rendevous.

If they(IBO) does a good job running this shoot, and give it a couple of years for the word to get out, it could be a good thing.

I agree. I think it will be a decent turn-out based on what I've been seeing on other message boards.

The IBO's is on my 'To do' list but next month will be my 4th International tourney, I just cant fit them all in.

So far only got two tourneys booked for 2010, the European Bowhunters (700 registered so far with no entry limit) and World Field champs in Germany (fully booked with 800 limit)
