Post subject: | field archery ground markers for yardage |
At the Riverside Archery Club in Massachusetts, we are rebulding our field archery course. The old markers, still in the ground, faded almost beyond recognition, are coffee cans filled with concrete. We could clean and repaint them. But, before we do, I figure I would ask -- do you have a favorite ground marker, anything you would recommend, that might be a good alternative to concrete in coffee cans? Thanks, Rob |

The concrete cylinder seems to be de rigueur. However if you're into making new ones, you could scribe the yardage into the top of the cylinder while the cement is still wet. They would still need to get an original paint job, red=field, yellow=animal, etc. But the yardage would remain marked forever and subsequent maintenance paint jobs would be much faster & easier. |
