At the above link you can enter your arrow weight and speed, etc. to get a chart of ballistic data. At first, the results may appear confusing, so I'll try to clarify what you're looking at.
The "Zero Distance" field is asking you for the distance you plan on shooting at and hitting the center.
So let's say you think you are 20 yards from your target. Enter 20 in the Zero Distance field. Calculate the chart.
It's interesting to see amount of error in the other columns for lighter/faster arrows. 10 fps more doesn't do much for you at short distances.
I also checked to see if it's ever better to overestimate or underestimate the distance of a target. But the difference was so small as to be negligible.
To see for yourself you would have run 2 calculations. One with the Zero Distance set to your estimate that is 5 (or however many) yards short, and then next with the Zero Distance set to the same distance beyond the actual target distance.
