Excellent! Thank you Dave T. That is exactly what I do. I try to "fix" things at full draw. And it works just often enoughto keep me coming back for more.
Went to a novelty shoot on Sunday. Did o.k. Took second. It was all shot from the compound stakes. No kiddie stakes for the stick shooters at this one. Anyway, even taking second I came away much happier than I have been at the last 2 shoots I've been to. I was even able to let down a couple of times when things weren't right. I got a standing ovation for being a longbow shooter who actually let down.(Thanx lbg!)
One of the things that helped this time was the realization that at these novelty shoots I don't need to shoot perfect, I need to shoot WELL! There is a huge difference. When I go into a tournament striving to shoot perfectly, it isn't too long before I'm beating myself up and thereby seriously hurting my ability to shoot at all. This is all part of the mental aspect of the game.
