Post subject: | Perfecting the Draw |
Most of my draws are flawed. The perfect draw gets back to my anchor with the perfect amount of cant so that I can look right down the arrow at the target. In addition, the draw follows my bow arm so that there are no upwards or sideways forces put on the arm or shoulder. The end result is that I can hold forever and sight perfectly. To draw perfectly, I need to start perfectly. And I have not quite got it. The fingers need to be on the string at the correct angle -- this influences cant and torque. The face and body need to be open so that the anchor point is reachable -- if I am too closed it changes the anchor and things just don't line up. Both of these (openness and finger position) are at angles that are not yet second nature. When they are on, shots are awesome. When they are off, less so. |
