Dryad WindTalker longbow, RH, 62", 38# @ 28"n
I originally just bought this lightweight longbow for shoulder rehab. It's brandy new, with about 2 dozen arrows shot through it.
The WindTalker is Very smooth drawing, very soft in the hands and release. Unlike most selfbows that are either one piece or one piece with a backing, this longbow is laminated in four composite layers of bamboo (backing), yew, bamboo, and yew (belly) - just like a glass laminate bow, only minus the glass. The limbs are nicely reflexed/deflexed, for smooth drawing and added arrow speed.
The bamboo backing has the outside nodes left intact and is stained a darkish brown, whilst the yew belly has a nice ambered stain. The riser is a nice chunk of cocobolo with an added multi-layered swoop line and real pretty maple burl grip. The limb tips are multi-laminated and FF worthy and comes with a 3ply Flemish FF string.
This is a top-of-the-line WindWalker that normally sells for $575. For sale: $300/delivered in the cont. USAn
