Just wanted to know if the fred Bear takedowns are cut to center.I was thinking about mounting a berger button,but think I might have to cut the sight window deeper to do this.Any ideas....<P>Dennis

<B>Dennis</B>, I believe, as with all Bear Recurves, the FB/TD is cut to 3/16" past centershot. It sounds like you don't already own the bow, for if you did you could easily check the centershot by bracing the bow and lining up the string with both limb centers (or make a simple arrow centershot jig). If you don't have the bow yet, I would sure wanna check the centershot dimension before buying. I guess that leads to the my next question for ya ... what will you use the bow for?<P>Berger Button (aka 'cushion plunger') - I guess I'd question why you'd wanna stick a plunger on this bow?<P>------------------<BR><B><I>Rob DiStefano</I></B><P><BR>

ROB,I guess my eyes are getting old.I do have one and it just didn't look center to me.The reason I was thinking about using a cushion plunger is that I can't use a clicker for IBO trad(T/P comes and goes).This puts me in a differnt class.I would be able to tune a lighter arrow and get much better arrow flight with the plunger. I love shooting the bow the way it is.I don't think I'll do it...was just thinking what if...<P>Dennis

<B>Dennis</B> - Aha! I hear ya, NOW I know where yer comin' from! Geez, it would seem a shame to go an rip up a good bow like the FB/TD to add on a plunger and do some riser shaving (I wanted this done with a Bob Lee recurve and the Bob himself poo-poo'd the idea saying at the bow's draw weight it would add too much stress by shaving down the arrow plate!). Damn!
