Very nicely written guide to arrow making, but I would like to add a couple of points if I may
1, Re shaft spine. If you are shooting an English Longbow then the spine needs to be about 2/3 of the bow wieght. This is due to the lack of cut out on the riser which means that the arrow has to bend further to clear the bow
2, When lining the grain up for the nock, have the 'points' of the grain pointing forward on the top of the arrow. This is so if the arrow breaks on loose, the sharp part will fly up and away from you. See n for more details, and pictures.
