IMO, it's not about cosmetics per se, it's about daft rules that wanna cater to a "classic D shaped braced longbow" image. No question to me that the Edge and other stealth hybrid longbow users have that r/d advantage over the backset Hill-style bows, but that's NOT the real issue, which is all about stupid rules that wanna cater to aesthetics, not cosmetics. Doing so has allowed for "creative thinkers" to dream up the stealth r/d longbow, which legally allows r/d longbows to compete with backset longbows. Krap or get off the damn pot. I'll not budge from ascribing to "if the string loops only touch the limb nocks, it's a longbow". This alone would be a huge shot-in-the-arm for tournament attendance. YMMV. |
