I think "totally relaxed" is more repeatable than some degree of tension and, like you, get better groups that way.

Just my twopenneth, but as you relax your wrist, surley, you are relaxing the bow-hand as well, & a relaxed bow-hand does not create torque... Does it? I'm not sure what you mean by a "locator type grip" I am only aware of the grip as used on the "English" Long-Bow.
