For me, the most enjoyable way to shoot is the way Rob advocates -- trajectory aiming. Just look down the arrow at the target, let your instincts calculate the trajectory, and let go.
I've shot some great arrows that way -- and also some REALLY awful ones. Sometimes those instincts fail me, and the arrow goes over everything!n
So -- my latest theory. Trajectory aiming is like shooting a heat-seeking missile -- you have to help it by pointing it close to the target; if you do, then the instincts can 'lock on' and never miss; if you are not close to start with, there is nothing for the instincts to lock onto.
So, I am now getting it close by using a gap to draw to anchor, then switching to trajectory aiming. It is a lot of fun, and I haven't shot many awful arrows:)
