A 10" bh may have been the norm, but the PMs, at least mine, [1 70"/#35, 1 66"/#41, 1 62"(PM Super Hunter)/#48, and 1 TD PM 67"/#43; 65"/#61; 67"/#81,] really like the lower brace heights. It's free speed, and I've seen no lose in stability. Yes, I measure with a square to the deepest cut in the grip (throat).

The #35 with an 1816 is around 180 fps. I generally don't worry about speed, but as I said, it free, had haven't seen any down side. Besides, the damn thing looks better with a lower brace height,

Viper, I'll have to tell my friend that has one to try a lower brace when & if he ever restrings it. He still has the original string on the bow, so clearly he doesn't shoot it much. Probably would look much better -- sleeker.

I think we've all come to realize, that there really is no right or wrong with this stuff. A lot comes down to preferences. At 20 yards, I doubt there'd be any real difference between a 10" or 8" brace height.

The lower bh DOES make it look sleeker though !!!n

180 at 35 lbs with an 1816 seems really fast -- I bet a brand new modern bow isn't going to do any better.
