Ann Hoyt, the wife of now-deceased Earl Hoyt, and owner of Sky Archery, shoots "point of aim" at the NAA Traditional Nationals. She uses a contraption that consists of a stick with graduated markings on it which she holds upright at arm's length with a string attached to it that she holds between her teeth. She then aligns the device with the target and uses it to establish her point of aim on the ground between her and the target. Maybe some similar device could be utilized to establish trajectory? Dunno?

I have heard of a method where a legnth of string is tied to the wrist, (bow hand) & a weight (such as a button) attached to the end, put the button onto the target & loose. You will hve to sort out your own length of string :D :D ;)
I did try this once, when shooting Clout at our club, but my arm seemed to get in the way, but I expect I could get it to work.

Marked sticks?, lengths of string?, dangling coat buttons? - geez fellas, these contraptions all sound like bowsights to me! :D

I am using Rob's method at longer and longer distances -- last time, out to 55 yards. It works. For me, it helps to have a couple of hard sanity checks -- so, I have a 'known gap' at 20 yards, and point-on at 70 -- so, I have three main distances -- 20 yards and less -- 70 yards and more -- and between 20 and 70. They get me in the ballpark, then I trajectory aim from there.
