The old lemonwood bows I have can be shot either right hand or left hand. The limb goes straight into the grip without a cutout on either side, just a little built out shelf to rest the arrow on.

If your bow is cutout for an arrow shelf on the left side as you hold the bow to shoot, it is meant to be shot by a right handed archer.

The other problem with old bows is that they may have dried out. If they are not varnished then rub them down with a 50/50 mix of pure linseed oil and natural turpentine. Allow this to soak into the wood before using the bow.
