ArcC - there is a similar head to head shoot that has been used in the past. It's called Face to Face, and was an indoor shoot held a few times in Holland in the early to mid nineties. I can't remember the exact details, but some form of "round robin" format was used, allowing archers a chance to recover from a slip up.
Apparently they are trying to get the tournament going again next year. I can't wait to see some new footage of the competition.
