What you describe is a modification of the standard tie-on nocking point used by many Olympic recurve archers. Generally the tie on material is the same material as the serving thread so that the tied on nocking point meshes with the serving and acts as a nut. This can be moved up and down the string with ease to set the nocking point where you want it.
