As far as traditional shooters, did I tell you I am the best traditional shooter in the club? Hint, I am the only traditional shooter. The club is mainly adult FITA and JOAD, although anyone is welcome. They are practicing for the indoor season now that it is winter time at a different facility. Which means I usually have the whole place to myself on Saturdays. When we do all shoot together the kids can not understand how I can shoot without a sight.

They have FITA target faces set up at 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 meters. My favorite game is to declare each color ring starting at gold to be worth 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 points. I then shoot one arrow per target for an 8 arrow end. Out of a possible 40 points my best score so far is 32. I am not sure what I would do if I ever get 8 bulls, probably faint.

The field course they have meanders through the woods following a path with shots setup on either side.

Would it be alright to go down Friday and maybe shoot a few arrows? I went to your website, to the directions, but it's a download. I've tried numerous times today, but I just can't download it. But that's alright the directions you've give me should get me there. Just one question on that, approx how many miles would it be between Exit 271 to your range?
Russ - Where is your range in Anchorage? Just curious. I've been there twice, only because my son gave me a ticket saying he'd get me there, but then I was on my own, as far as expenses were concerned. I made out alright even if I didn't have any money. I couldn't eat at the Hilton, so I asked a couple guys with lunch pails where they ate, and they said Peggys's. That was my reataurant both times. Well, not both times. The second time was in Winter and I went to Homer, staying in a little Motel by the Bay. As a matter I fact I was the only resident. God was it cold. But the Moose didn't mind, they came right to my window. Enjoyed it a lot.

Robend, The field range is in Kincaid Park which is located in the southwest portion of Anchorage, south of the airport. It's generally operational from around May 1st, depending on spring weather conditions, until October 31st or first snow that sticks, whichever comes first. Kincaid is a super cross-country skiing area and the ski association has asked us not to drive over groomed snow, hence the variable close date. Let me know when you're coming up again and maybe we can fling a few arrows.
Peggy's a good place to eat for not much cash. The White Spot is located downtown and has good burgers. The Lucky Wishbone is know to serve up good chicken too.
