I've posted a bunch of high speed / slow mo videos of the 2010 IBO Trad Worlds. Most are during the 3 Rivers Shootoff where many of the top shooters were gathered. I have more of the other competitors, but I didn't remember their names, so I didn't want to post untitled videos.

You can study the form of top shooters frame by frame. Using quicktime, you can pause and step forward and backward with your left and right arrow keys on the keyboard.

What I like to watch is the elbow upon release...if it goes forward that's a collapse....backward is good.

Arrow tuning issues can also be seen to some extent as the arrow initially comes off the bow.

Equipment is interesting -- looks like both have longbow limbs bolted onto takedown risers -- one large wooded one with what looks like a standard recurve grip -- the other an Olympic-style recurve riser. Am I seeing this correctly?

And of course I notice the very high anchors -- what kind of distances are shot in this class?

And I notice the cant, which I am starting to believe is an important key to a great shot!

Distances ranged from about 12 to 30 yards in this particular event. Normal IBO limits are 30 yards max for recurve class, 25 yards for longbow.

Thanks for the video. Obviously very effective archers but form is interesting when viewed from a Olympic type of standard.
